Implementation of an Intelligent Transportation System in the City of Perm
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
Implementation of ITS components in the Perm urban agglomeration:
- Optimization of traffic conditions to increase road capacity and prevent congestion
- Improvement of control and analysis of the transport and operational state of the road network
- Enhancement of the reliability of data used by road management departments
- Improvement of road traffic safety and support for prompt decision-making in traffic flow management
PROJECT STAGES:
2023 — SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT:
- Delivery of 96 TrafficData Monitoring module licenses for server-side processing
- Installation of 70 traffic detectors with TrafficData monitoring licenses
2024 — SYSTEM EXPANSION:
- Integration of accident and emergency subsystems to enable automatic detection and analysis of incidents
- Installation of additional traffic detectors to improve monitoring accuracy
RESULTS:
The implementation of TrafficData software, based on the collected data, made it possible to:
- Reduce the risk of traffic accidents and minimize the negative impact of occurred incidents
- Improve the quality of road infrastructure maintenance through automation systems
- Reduce cargo and passenger transport delays by 26%
- Increase the speed of private and public transport by 34.4%
