The system measures the vehicle's gross weight, axle loads, and axle group loads, determines overall dimensions, and detects violations of established weight and size limits. Built-in video analytics recognizes the license plates of both the vehicle and trailer, classifies the vehicle, and links measurement results with photographs and video recordings.
The system operates 24/7, requires no vehicle stops, and can be integrated with regional and federal information systems.
TrafficData’s video analytics detects and tracks a vehicle throughout the entire measurement zone. Computer vision algorithms classify the vehicle, recognise its license plate, generate overview images and link these to the results of weight and dimensions checks.
For each passage, a single digital record is created, containing the measured parameters, recognised number plates, photographs, video footage, speed, lane, direction, location and time of recording.
The anti-fraud module identifies vehicles whose operators attempt to evade enforcement by concealing or altering the readability of license plates.
If a vehicle’s license plate cannot be recognized or is intentionally obscured while passing through the WIM enforcement point, the system searches neighboring traffic enforcement camera systems for the same vehicle.
Matching is performed using a combination of visual vehicle characteristics, travel direction, and passage time. If the same vehicle is detected by another camera with a visible and readable license plate, the recognized plate number is utomatically associated with the WIM enforcement event.
As a result, concealing a license plate immediately before the enforcement point does not necessarily prevent vehicle identification. Operators receive the matching results together with supporting photo and video evidence.
The client gains a tool for continuously monitoring traffic load, detecting overweight and oversized vehicles, performing automatic video recognition, and license plate.
The data collected enables the actual load on the road network to be assessed, road repairs and maintenance to be planned, and the efficiency of traffic control to be improved.
TrafficData provides the selection of equipment, the design, installation and configuration of video analytics configuration, as well as the integration of weight and dimension control points with the client’s information systems.
