About the Company

TrafficData was founded in Perm in 2019 by Ivan Chebykin and Dmitry Ponosov, along with a team of developers. The initial idea was to create a product that optimizes the collection of traffic data on roads.

Company's history began with bridges design. While working at the design institute, I specialized in creating such projects. I focused heavily on automating calculations and design processes, developing programs to optimize my work. Once calculations were no longer a bottleneck, I sought a new challenge. I realized that even a perfectly designed bridge might not solve traffic issues, often due to gaps and inaccuracies in traffic flow data. Together with a team of like-minded professionals, we developed a prototype of a program for analyzing traffic flows using video analytics based on data from unmanned aerial vehicles. This became our launchpad. Our solution not only eliminated the human factor in data collection but also provided high-precision analysis — a crucial stage in transport studies and modeling.

Today, the company’s software powers solutions for traffic monitoring, flow analysis, adaptive traffic control, and smart parking, as well as accident and incident detection. TrafficData’s technologies are deployed across numerous Russian cities—including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, and Khabarovsk—and internationally in countries such as Israel, Brazil, and Turkey. They are also used for research at universities in Belarus and Tajikistan.

As an accredited IT company with a proven five-year track record, our products analyze and optimize traffic to make roads safer. But our ambitions reach further: we aim to expand into new markets, optimize transportation on a global scale, and empower people to achieve more. That is our mission!
