The forum and exhibition “Intelligent Transport Systems of Russia. The Digital Transport Era — 2024” has successfully concluded.
The forum became a platform for sharing experience and expert opinions among specialists, government representatives, and the scientific community.
As noted by State Duma Deputy Sergey Ten, who attended the forum, it is crucial that ITS implementation moves beyond the category of “other” and becomes an integral part of our lives. Priorities of new national infrastructure projects are quality, comfort, and safety.
According to the Russian Ministry of Transport, in 2024, as part of the “Safe High-Quality Roads” national project, ITS implementation continues across Russian regions.
ITS helps optimize transport flows, control traffic lights, and identify congested or unsafe road sections. Last year, ITS projects were deployed in 57 urban agglomerations across 51 regions. This year, the number has grown to 62 in 56 regions.
In 2024, more than 3.15 billion rubles are allocated for ITS deployment. The system’s main goal is automating traffic management processes, which will ultimately improve road safety.
In 2024–2025, new equipment will be installed to more accurately assess road congestion and select optimal traffic light modes to reduce jams and speed up traffic flow.
The necessary technologies for ITS development already exist. In particular, TrafficData actively participated in the business program “ITS Russia — 2024” and received recognition for presentations on traffic light automation without ACS, and on monitoring transport service quality using video analytics.
